STA630 Current Spring 2011 Final Term VU Paper [July 2011] Virtual University of Pakistan

3 Marks question = 4
5 Marks question = 4
Almost 90% of the mcq's were new and only 10% were from past paper...subjective portion was also new questions and only 1 question was from past paper..
Subjective question was as follows…
1. What are some unique features of historical comparative research which distinguish it from other forms research? 3 marks.
2. Azeem was conducting a study/research in a mental institution. The mental institution got his signatures on a non disclosure document, according to that he would not disclose any information related to the institution to any outsider. During his research, he discovered that the patients were mistreated and abused by the staff. He had two choices: to leave the study and call for investigation or to keep quite and continue with the study for several months, publish the findings afterwards and then advocate an end to abuse.
What type of ethical dilemma it is; confidentiality or deception? Justify your opinion. 3 marks
3. Define varieties of non- reactivates of observation.3 marks
4. - Explain case control studies in focus group discussion ? 3 Marks

1. Differentiate deception and confidentiality of field research?
2. What is independent variable and give the experimental example of it.
3. Data is given and we have to make the null hypotheses or alternative hypothesis.
